Ed Sheeran x HENI – What’s the deal?

In case you missed it, Grammy-winning crooner Ed Sheeran is now selling paintings with HENI. Yes, you read that right. After wrapping his Mathematics tour, Ed took to a disused car park to splatter some paint and chill out creatively. The result? A series of Pollock-inspired works now available as limited-edition prints at HENI Gallery in Soho, running from 10 July to 1 August. They’ll set you back just over £900 a pop.

Now before you say “Jesus, does this man need more money?” – all proceeds go to the Ed Sheeran Foundation, helping kids access quality music education. Which is, let’s be honest, a pretty decent cause.

So what’s the verdict?
It’s… mixed. Some people are calling it out as “famous person does finger painting,” and saying the only reason they’re worth anything is because he’s the one who did it. And, well — they’re not wrong. Branding often trumps talent in the art market. But whether you love it or loathe it, one thing’s for sure: you’re not just buying art, you’re buying a story. And that story is, “Guess what? Ed Sheeran made this.”
