Takiro

Bold, graphic and character-led, Takiro’s work draws on anime and manga to create paintings with real presence.

Colour, exaggeration and cultural reference sit at the centre of Takiro’s practice. His compositions are immediate and high-impact, but they are also carefully built: works that use the language of popular image culture while still feeling sharp, considered and at home in a contemporary gallery setting.

Why collectors respond

Takiro’s work has an immediacy that makes it easy to live with and hard to ignore. The compositions are direct, colour-driven and full of attitude, but there is also structure behind them: a clear understanding of how image, surface and scale can work together.

Biography

Takiro grew up in a creative environment, watching his father, Maxim, channel his passion into both painting and music. Art was never treated as something distant or separate from everyday life; it was part of the atmosphere around him from the beginning.

Alongside that influence came a deep love of anime and manga. He was drawn to their colour, their intensity and the exaggerated personalities that give the genre its distinct visual charge. Over time, those influences became part of his own language as an artist.

Travel in Japan further sharpened that interest. Exploring manga shops across Tokyo, Takiro encountered a wide visual range, from softer cartoon-like works to bolder adult-themed graphic imagery. That breadth can still be felt in the work today, where playfulness and provocation often sit side by side.

“Takiro’s work brings together the hyper-stylised energy of anime and manga with the presence and immediacy of contemporary painting.”

Visual language

Takiro works with the visual speed of anime and manga, but the finished pieces do more than reference those sources. They translate that world into something more fixed and deliberate: compositions built around impact, rhythm and character.

The result is work that feels current without being disposable. It speaks to collectors who are interested in how contemporary painting can absorb popular visual culture and turn it into something with lasting presence.

Collecting Takiro

For new and established collectors alike, Takiro offers work with immediacy. These are pieces that bring strong visual identity into a space, holding their own whether placed within a contemporary interior or a broader collection of modern and urban-influenced work.

The appeal lies in that balance between accessibility and edge: vivid work that feels energetic and fresh, while still carrying the confidence of a distinct artistic voice.
