Takiro
Bold, graphic and character-led, Takiro's work draws on anime, manga and Japanese visual culture to create contemporary paintings with immediate colour, energy and presence.
Biography
Takiro grew up in a creative environment, watching his father Maxim channel his own interests through painting and music. Art was part of everyday life rather than something distant or institutional.
Alongside that influence came a strong interest in anime and manga — particularly their colour, intensity and exaggerated personalities. Travel in Japan further developed that visual vocabulary, exposing him to the extraordinary breadth of graphic culture found across Tokyo.
Those influences now feed into a distinctive contemporary painting practice in which playfulness, provocation and high-impact imagery sit side by side.
