The Brighton Butterfly Trail is a free family activity through the North Laine, created by Indelible Fine Art in support of The Lily Foundation.

Visit each participating location, find its butterfly and draw it inside the matching numbered box on your Explorer Card.

Once all 10 boxes have been completed, return to Indelible Fine Art to show us your drawings and collect your reward.

Begin at Indelible Fine Art and collect your free Butterfly Trail Explorer Card.

Find 10 butterflies

Follow the map through Brighton’s North Laine and find the butterfly at each participating location.

Draw each butterfly

Look carefully and draw each butterfly inside the matching numbered box on your Explorer Card.

04

Return for your reward

Bring your completed card back to Indelible Fine Art for a free ice cream and Butterfly Trail sticker.

The Lily Foundation supports families affected by mitochondrial disease and funds research into treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

By joining the trail, sharing the campaign and donating, you are helping more people learn about mitochondrial disease and the families living with it.

Is the Butterfly Trail free?
Yes. The trail is completely free to take part in. Donations to The Lily Foundation are warmly encouraged but are not required.
Where does the trail start?
The trail starts and finishes at Indelible Fine Art, 9–10 Jew Street, Brighton, BN1 1UT.
What do children need to do at each stop?
Find the displayed butterfly and draw it inside the corresponding numbered box on the Explorer Card.
Do we need to visit the stops in order?
No. Families can visit the locations in any order, although the suggested route has been designed to make the walk simple.
Where do we collect the free ice cream?
Bring the completed Explorer Card back to Indelible Fine Art. The ice cream and sticker will both be given out at the gallery.
Who can claim the free ice cream?
The reward is for children under 12 who complete the trail. There is a maximum of two free ice creams per family and all rewards are subject to availability.
What happens if one of the businesses is closed?
Entry to each location is not required, each butterfly will be in the display window of each shop or affixed outside. But supporting local buisness and visiting during opening hours is recommended.
Do children need to be supervised?
Yes. Children must remain with a responsible adult while walking between locations, crossing roads and entering participating shops.
