Description
The Empresses is a series of five striking works inspired by some of history's most influential female rulers. Continuing Damien Hirst's celebrated butterfly motif, each composition transforms intricate arrangements of butterfly wings into vibrant kaleidoscopic patterns that explore themes of beauty, power, freedom, life and mortality.

Produced as laminated Giclée prints on aluminium composite with screen-printed glitter, the works possess remarkable depth, colour and luminosity. While each panel is a powerful artwork in its own right, the complete series is intended to be experienced together, creating a bold contemporary installation that reflects Hirst's fascination with symmetry, transformation and the natural world.
