Artist: Leah Wood
Artwork: Morning Cloak
Medium: Acrylic, Clingfilm & Glue on Canvas
Artwork Size: 61 × 63 cm
Morning Cloak was created especially for The Lily Foundation Charity Exhibition and is a celebration of transformation, fragility and strength.
Inspired by the butterfly — a symbol at the heart of The Lily Foundation — Leah Wood captures the delicate balance between vulnerability and resilience. Layered textures and mixed materials create a sense of movement across the canvas, reflecting the ideas of change, growth and hope that the butterfly has come to represent.
With its striking colour and intricate surface, Morning Cloak celebrates the beauty found within even the most delicate moments, while taking on particular meaning within an exhibition dedicated to families affected by mitochondrial disease.
100% of the gallery’s proceeds from the sale of this artwork will be donated directly to The Lily Foundation, supporting families affected by mitochondrial disease and helping to fund vital research.
