Starry Nights, Hollywood sees Mr Brainwash reimagine Vincent van Gogh’s iconic The Starry Night through the lens of contemporary pop and street culture.
Against Van Gogh’s instantly recognisable swirling night sky, Mr Brainwash introduces the Hollywood sign into the Provençal landscape, creating a surreal meeting of two very different places and periods. The poetic landscape of nineteenth-century France collides with the spectacle and mythology of modern Los Angeles.
Layered colour and energetic textures heighten the movement of the composition while Mr Brainwash’s contemporary interventions transform the familiar masterpiece into something playful, irreverent and unmistakably his own.
Released as a limited edition of just 95, Starry Nights, Hollywood is hand signed by the artist and supplied framed with a Certificate of Authenticity.
