Taken on one of Blur's rare days off while touring, The Way Up captures Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon sharing a moment of pure exhilaration aboard a classic wooden roller coaster. Looking back towards Dave Rowntree's camera with broad smiles, the image offers a rare glimpse of two lifelong bandmates enjoying a brief escape from the relentless demands of touring.
The photograph also carries one of the tour's more memorable stories. Damon is pictured wearing a blue bucket hat that, according to the band, was lost forever somewhere along the ride.
